Now Accepting Florida Psychiatry Referrals: Child, Adolescent & Young Adult Telehealth Psychiatry

A New Referral Option for Florida Children, Teens & Young Adults Ages 4–30

Finding timely psychiatric care for a child, adolescent, or young adult can be challenging—particularly when a patient needs specialized psychiatric evaluation or ongoing medication management in addition to the counseling, primary care, or other services they are already receiving.

Resilience Counseling & Social Skills Center is now accepting referrals for Child, Adolescent & Young Adult Psychiatry throughout Florida via telehealth.

Our Florida psychiatric services are provided by Hadley McPherson, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist licensed in Florida and Virginia who provides psychiatric care for patients ages 4–30.

Dr. McPherson is currently accepting new Florida patients, giving therapists, pediatricians, primary-care providers, psychologists, schools, and other community professionals an additional resource when a patient needs psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

Meet Hadley McPherson, MD

Dr. Hadley McPherson is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

After completing her general psychiatry residency in Miami, Florida, Dr. McPherson completed additional fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Her approach begins with understanding the whole patient. She takes time to obtain a detailed medical and psychiatric history, understand current symptoms and stressors, and consider the developmental, family, school, social, and life experiences that may be affecting the patient.

Treatment is individualized and may incorporate psychiatric evaluation, medication management when clinically appropriate, psychoeducation, behavioral interventions, therapeutic support, and collaboration with other professionals involved in the patient's care.

Conditions We Commonly Evaluate and Treat

Dr. McPherson works with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral health concerns, including:

  • ADHD and attention difficulties

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Depression

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Mood disorders

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Trauma-related disorders and PTSD

  • Behavioral and emotional concerns

  • Aggression

  • Psychosis

  • Insomnia and sleep-related concerns

  • Other psychiatric concerns affecting children, adolescents, and young adults

Every patient is evaluated individually, and treatment recommendations are based on the patient's clinical presentation, history, developmental stage, needs, and circumstances.

Statewide Florida Access Through Telehealth

Because Dr. McPherson provides services through telehealth, eligible patients can access psychiatric care from communities throughout Florida rather than having to live near a particular psychiatric practice.

This includes families and young adults in Tampa Bay, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Naples, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Tallahassee, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and communities throughout the state.

Patients participate in appointments through secure video visits from home, helping reduce the travel and scheduling barriers that can make accessing specialty psychiatric care difficult.

A Psychiatry Resource for Florida Therapists and Healthcare Providers

We recognize that many patients already have important relationships with therapists, pediatricians, primary-care physicians, psychologists, school professionals, and other members of their care team.

Our goal is not to disrupt those relationships.

When a patient is referred to Resilience for psychiatry, Dr. McPherson can provide psychiatric evaluation and ongoing psychiatric care while the patient continues working with their existing therapist and other providers when clinically appropriate.

With appropriate patient authorization, our team can collaborate with existing healthcare and behavioral-health professionals to support continuity of care.

This can make Resilience a particularly useful referral option for practices that provide psychotherapy or other behavioral-health services but do not have psychiatric prescribing available internally.

Currently Accepting New Florida Patients

Dr. McPherson is currently building her Florida patient panel, and new-patient appointments are available.

We welcome referrals from:

Pediatricians • Primary-Care Providers • Therapists & Counselors • Psychologists • Behavioral Health Practices • School Professionals • College & University Professionals • Other Healthcare and Community Providers

Patients and families may contact Resilience directly, or referral sources may share our Florida Psychiatry information with families seeking care.
