THERAPIST

Siena De Steno, MS, Resident In Counseling

Siena De Steno, Resident in Counseling, strives to support individuals in feeling safe enough to become curious about themselves, exploring the experiences and relationships that have shaped them. Siena’s approach is grounded in attachment and family systems, trauma-responsive care, and evidence-based practices, with a focus on understanding each individual within the context of their relationships, experiences, and unique perspectives.

Siena believes that healing happens through connection. With a relational approach, she views the therapeutic relationship as an important part of the healing process—a space where trust, safety, and authenticity can be experienced and practiced in ways that support healing beyond the therapy room.

Siena engages with a variety of therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic techniques for nervous system regulation. She has completed Basic Training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), with certification currently in progress, and utilizes ART when appropriate. Siena is LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to providing a culturally-informed therapeutic experience, and a respectful, inclusive space.

Siena carries several years of experience working in mental healthcare, particularly in community and residential treatment settings. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a member of the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (IS-ART), and is currently seeking professional licensure in Virginia.
