THERAPIST

Rebecca Howson-Jacobs, LPC, CSOTP

I believe therapy should be like a birdhouse: a safe place in which to seek refuge from the storm of life while you rest your soul, unburden your mind, and rebuild your strength. I strive to provide you with that respite as I help you understand your behavior, organize your mind, let go of unhealthy patterns, develop new skills, and ultimately reveal your best life. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families and thrive on helping my clients unfold their wings and fly.

I have worked in rehabilitative mental health since 2006 and have been a practicing therapist since 2013 working with cases involving anxiety, depression, compulsive disorders, life transitions, grief, abuse, sexual crimes, gender identity, and unhealthy relationships, as well as coping with chronic illness in your own life or as a caregiver. I have specialized training in sexual abuse and trauma and my mission is to break unhealthy cycles and release clients from generational baggage. In addition to therapy I am able to offer juvenile sexual risk assessments and psychosexual evaluations.

Over the years I've heard clients express that they put off seeking help because they thought their problems weren't "bad" enough, but any issue that is in any way disruptive to your well-being is worthy of help, and you are worthy of support. I look forward to helping you find your strength so that you may rise above whatever has held you back.
