RD Boardman, LPC
Dr. RD Boardman is a licensed psychologist for over 15 years and has worked in university, residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. RD provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy to teens, adults and the elderly. He earned his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University and completed his APA-accredited internship at Colorado State University in 2009.
RD has worked in the following settings:
Sitka, Alaska working for an Alaska Native Health organization as a licensed psychologist, training director, and assessment coordinator while providing therapy and psychological assessments for children to the elderly. This position also included working with military personnel.
Boise Idaho at Boise State University as their full-time licensed psychologist providing individual and group psychotherapy, as well as providing psychological assessments.
Provo Utah at Brigham Young University as a licensed psychologist and as faculty both providing psychotherapy and teaching courses around career development and mental health.
Toole, Utah Most recently, RD has worked for Nat-Su Healthcare as their Chief Behavioral Health Officer. This organization provided residential and outpatient therapy for adults and teens who were predominantly Native American and from all walks of life. He provided individual and group psychotherapy, in addition to psychological evaluations.
While he is confident in his abilities to work with most mental health concerns, RD enjoys especially working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, perfectionism, trauma in all its forms, identity development, multicultural issues, spirituality, sexual identity, family/relationships, crises, self harm, and suicidality. RD is LGBTQIA affirming. He works especially well with teens, adults and the elderly. RD uses and is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities which include Interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), positive psychology, strength based, Jungian psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and crisis work.
