Child, Adolescent & Young Adult Psychiatry

Mental health concerns can look different at different stages of development.

Children, teenagers, college-age patients, and young adults may experience changes in mood, attention, behavior, relationships, school performance, sleep, emotional regulation, and daily functioning.

Kristy specializes in working with patients ages 6–28 and provides psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management with consideration for each patient's developmental stage and individual needs.

For younger patients, collaboration with parents and caregivers can also be an important part of psychiatric treatment when clinically appropriate.

Areas of Clinical Focus

Kristy's clinical experience includes psychiatric evaluation and treatment for children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing concerns such as:

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Anxiety Disorders
Depression
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Mood Disorders
Other Psychiatric Concerns Affecting Children, Adolescents & Young Adults

Mental health symptoms frequently overlap. Kristy works to understand the broader clinical picture when developing individualized treatment recommendations.

ADHD Psychiatry & Medication Management

ADHD can affect much more than a person's ability to pay attention.

For children, teenagers, and young adults, ADHD may affect organization, impulse control, emotional regulation, academic performance, relationships, work, and everyday functioning.

Kristy works with young people experiencing ADHD and provides psychiatric treatment and medication management when medication is clinically appropriate.

Because ADHD may occur alongside anxiety, depression, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, and other mental health challenges, treatment considers the individual patient rather than focusing on a diagnosis in isolation.

An Individualized & Collaborative Approach

Kristy believes meaningful progress is supported by collaborative relationships with patients and families.

She develops individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's developmental stage, strengths, unique needs, and treatment goals.

Her approach emphasizes education, empowerment, evidence-based care, and long-term wellness.

For children and adolescents, this may also involve helping parents and caregivers better understand the treatment plan and their child's mental health needs when appropriate.
