THERAPIST

Georgia Evangeliou, LPC

Georgia is a Licensed Professional Counselor who was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She received both her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Counselor Education from Virginia Tech. During her Master’s program, she provided counseling services in Roanoke, Virginia, where she worked with diverse populations and grew passionate about advocacy work. She finished her internship at Hokie Wellness where she counseled college students who struggled with alcohol and substance use related issues. She also has experience working with adolescents and adults dealing with ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, stress management, transitional periods, and other mental health issues.

Georgia believes that providing a safe and nonjudgemental space helps facilitate a supportive environment where clients can feel empowered to look within themselves to find their most authentic self. She counsels from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral framework, but works collaboratively with her clients to fit each of their individual needs. Her goal is to provide a strengths-based and empathic approach that allows clients to feel heard, understood, supported, and respected, all while helping facilitate change. Georgia believes that therapists are the holders of hope for their clients as they walk alongside them on their journey towards growth.
