Denise Simpson, LCSW
Denise Simpson’s, LCSW, work as a therapist is grounded in the belief that healing happens when we learn to listen inward. Denise supports clients in finding the answers within themselves, and celebrates when clients have "AHA" moments. She also believes that clients are resilient, and can overcome any obstacles that may be standing in their way. Her style is one of compassion, sincerity, authenticity, honesty and collaboration. This applies no matter the age of a person. Denise's goal as a therapist is to help people learn to thrive during difficult times and move forward in living their best life possible with a sense of purpose.
Denise uses music, art, expressive writing during therapy sessions. She uses the following therapeutic modalities: Narrative Practice, Psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, Brainspotting, ACT, Somatic Exercises, and Mindfulness. Her treatment is client focused because people require different approaches.
Denise received her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from Emmanuel College and her Master's in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. Denise is an advocate and ally to the LGBTQ+ community, lives cultural humility and truly has a heart for people.
When not working as a therapist, Denise can be found at home watching Netflix, and cuddling with her fur babies Heart and Soul. She also enjoys being with her family and friends, grabbing a coffee, going to the bookstore, car rides, and simply enjoying life. Denise has one daughter, age 23, that means the world to her.
