NURSE PRACTITIONER

Arissa Joseph, PMHNP-BC

Arissa Joseph is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and holistic mental health care. With over six years of

experience in mental health care, Arissa has spent the majority of her career as an RN on VCU’s Inpatient Psychiatry unit, supporting individuals with acute psychiatric needs.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence- based mental health treatment.

Arissa works collaboratively with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their individual goals, values, and perspectives. She primarily treats adults ages 16 to 60, with a focus on anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.

While she recognizes the important role of medication in mental health care, Arissa is equally passionate about empowering patients to build sustainable lifestyle skills—such as improved sleep hygiene, regular physical activity, and mindfulness practices—to support long-term wellness and improve quality of life.

Outside of her clinical work, Arissa enjoys reading, practicing yoga, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
